Securing Alberta’s water future for next 100 years
Alberta’s growing population, communities, industries and agri-food sector are growing, and reliable access to water will be essential to sustaining that growth. That is why Alberta’s government is launching work to examine what the province will need to strengthen water security over the next 100 years.
A request for proposals has been issued to develop a white paper examining the security of Alberta’s water supply. The work will examine bold, practical and innovative opportunities to increase water availability, strengthen water management and help guide future infrastructure and investment decisions across the province. The white paper is expected to be completed in spring 2027. View the announcement and the Request for Proposals

Canada doesn't just need more trade; it needs more traders. Helping more businesses export is one of the most effective ways to strengthen Canada's economy, diversify our trade relationships and build long-term resilience — a priority the Canadian Chamber and our Chamber Network have championed for years. That's why we're excited to share that our Canadian Chamber President and CEO, Candace Laing, has been appointed to Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu's Strategic Exports Advisory Council. “Canadian businesses are facing one of the most consequential periods in modern trade history,” said our President and CEO, Candace Laing.
“Especially for small and medium sized businesses, they are being forced to look beyond traditional markets, competing more globally and navigating a far more uncertain economy than they did just a few years ago.” Read the Announcement
