Celebrating Our Legacy
As we celebrate 125 years of impact, the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce reflects on a legacy built by generations of business leaders who believed in the power of collaboration and community. What began as a small group of visionaries in May 1900 including bankers, barristers, ranchers, merchants, contractors, physicians, a hotelier, a lumber dealer and a butcher, has grown into a regional organization representing businesses across Southeast Alberta—from Medicine Hat to Brooks-Newell and beyond.
This milestone year reminds us that progress is never static. Our journey has included expansion into new regions, the evolution of our identity, and the strengthening of partnerships that drive economic growth. Each change has reinforced our commitment to creating opportunities for businesses to thrive, even in the face of challenges.
Through advocacy, engagement, and innovation, we continue to address the issues that matter most—rising costs, workforce needs, regulatory complexity, and economic uncertainty.
